It’s the holidays and sure enough it’s that time of year when excuses get in the way and getting to a workout is a challenge. Then it gets even harder when trying to workout will traveling for the holidays. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
This past year I’ve been traveling quite a bit and my favorite place to visit is Canada where I can hang out with my very good friend Shawna. Let me tell you a little about Shawna if you haven’t read my last few articles.
She’s a little crazy, (in a good way)! Whenever I workout with her she I end up a looking like a hot sweaty mess! She never lets me miss a workout when I see her, even when I’m freezing my behind off in Canada, we get the workout in no matter what.
No Excuses!
Shawna K, of Challenge Workouts is known as the “Pull up Queen”, and for good reason, she hangs off of rafters at airports to get a workout in. I thinking she may have almost been kicked out of an airport for that!
She travels quite a bit, at least 3 times a month and no matter where she is and where she goes, every day she is away from her regular routine in doesn’t stop her from getting a workout in.
I asked Shawna what are some of her favorite workouts to do when she travels…here’s a body weight workout you can try out…
Here is a basic overview of the workout in the video above:
* You’ll do burpees, push ups, mountain climbers, squat jumps, bicycle crunches and wall sits.
It’s a count down set.
* If you want to count from 10-1, that’s the ‘hardcore’ method.
* If you’re strapped for time (or energy), you could do 10,8,6,4,2 reps of each exercise.
* Either way, you’ll be a hot mess when you’re done if you bring the energy to the workout.)
