The truth is….Pilates is a hard workout! Recently more and more guys have discovered how challenging body weight Pilates exercises really are. But it’s not just the guys figuring this out. Ladies have quickly incorporated Pilates exercises to their weekly fitness workouts.
Now, the benefits have been nothing short of amazing!
Every month more and more inches have been lost and lean tone physiques are being made every day. If you are thinking that Pilates wont give you a full body workout then I will quickly stop you there and let you know just how much that is not the truth.
Yesterday I was asked what Pilates is and what makes it a challenging workout, and why is it considered functional training. After a long conversation explaining exactly what the Body Weigh Pilates workout is all about I came up with this list of the truth about Pilates.
* It will challenge your fitness level, whether you are an active athlete or starting from scratch and never worked out a day in your life, the Body Weight Pilates system will work your entire body as a whole.
* It won’t take hundreds and hundreds reps of the same exercise to start feeling the burn. Expect to break a sweat within the first 3 minutes of the Pilates workout.
One of the greatest benefits of body weight Pilates is the focus on the intricate muscles that surrounds and protects the low back, spine, pelvis and hips.
*Reduce the risk of injury, these carefully crafted Pilates routines encourage the body to work as a whole rather than separate the moves as individual muscle movements.
*Increased physical performance and stronger body overall. The stronger the foundation the better your body will perform. Meaning you will get more out of your workout.
Here is a body weight Pilates workout you can try at home. My friend Justin, a L1 Crossfit Coach here in Chino Hills helped me out with demonstrating the move. Expect to feel muscles you never knew were there and your deep abdominal muscles.
