Well I made it! I finished the OC Half Marathon! It was my first time ever running a marathon much less train for it.
I’ve always wanted to run one but kept telling myself I couldn’t do it because of my knee, it boiled down to me putting limitations on myself to not do something I wanted to do.
I decided to do it last minute when I got a text from my good friend on Monday night and I said I’d sure why not. Certainly for a half marathon you’d want to train but not me. I jumped right in and did it. If I would have thought about it to long I would have talked myself out of it.
As I mentioned, I have changed up my workouts and added some intensity and more strengthening moves to my regimen.
What kept me going when I hit every mile mark on the marathon path was the endurance and strength I had gained from my challenge workouts. Since I’ve changed up my workouts I’ve noticed myself losing more inches and looking stronger.
But, I’ll admit when I hit mile 10 the only thing I thought of was, “Who’s idea was this again?” it was my bodies defense and my minds way of saying you are crazy. I wasn’t about to give up and I felt confident in finishing the race strong.
Too often I see people train for a competition and once they are done they lose interest and stop training, then I see people hit the gym hard to look great in the summer and once summer is over they are done with working out and hibernate till next spring when they want to be in shape again. It’s the Yo-Yo dieting and exercising.
For me, had I not of stayed active and change up my workouts to always challenge my physical limits I would not have made it through a marathon at the last minute.
There’s nothing wrong with staying healthy, being strong and fit 365 days a year.
I’ve been talking about me intensifying my workouts lately and a few days ago I gave you a sneak peak of what I was doing. The workouts are part of Shawna’s new program ==> Challenge Fat Loss Workouts
When I visited Shawna last month in Calgary I managed to sit her down and ask her first hand what Challenge Fat Loss Workouts are all about and why they are so effective…

Now you don’t have to be prepping for a marathon or anything intense activity like that but you don’t want to be hitting plateaus in your workouts. It gets boring when that happens.
You can pick up a copy of Shawna’s brand New Challenge Fat Loss Workouts right here >>> Challenge Fat Loss Workouts
There’s certainly nothing to lose to change up your workouts and push your limits. As I mentioned above I set limitations on myself by saying I couldn’t run because of my bum knee.
Well, it’s feeling fine and if I didn’t step out of comfort zone to do something I’ve always wanted to achieve then I would have missed out on a great life experience like running along the beautiful streets of some gorgeous homes along the coast.
So if you’ve hit a point in your workout where you feel your at your limit then give the ==> Challenge Fat Loss Workout a try!
I figure what’s the worst thing that can happen? You get stronger, build endurance, loss weight and you may jump in a last minute half marathon =)
